POLSON – Local swimmers qualified for a state swimming championship, held in town.
More than 200 swimmers from more than a dozen swim clubs from around the state gathered this past weekend at the Mission Valley Aquatic Center for the 2017 Montana State Short Course Championship.
During the three-day event, swimmers ranging from six years old through 18 were able to compete in a variety of team and individual events that started early on Friday morning and concluded on Sunday evening.
The Mission Valley’s own swim team, the Lake Monster Swim Club, had nine swimmers qualify to compete in the meet.
“I’m very proud of how the kids have competed so far. The kids have competed amazingly,” Lake Monster swim coach Zax Martin said.
“They have accomplished all the goals we have set out for them.”
