Thrift shop collecting food
POLSON – The Nifty Thrifty, located at 712 1st St. E, is collecting non-perishable food items for the local food bank. The thrift shop is part of the Mission Mountain Enterprises, Inc, a nonprofit corporation. People can purchase a blouse or shirt from the thrift shop for $1 with every food item they bring in. Ronan choirs to perform
RONAN — The Mission Valley Children’s Choir and the Ronan Adult Choir will present concerts on Sunday, March 12. The Children’s Choir will begin at 3 p.m. and the Adult Choir Concert will begin at 3:30 p.m. Both concerts will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 406 Fifth Ave. SW.
Cathy Gillhouse directs both choirs. Pastor Seth Nelson is the assistant director and Robyn Carlsen is the accompanist for the Children’s Choir. Wendy Sanders is the accompanist of the Adult Choir.
Both choirs are singing a variety of songs, including pop tunes, folk songs, a madrigal, and some fun songs.
Admission is free to the public.
The Mission Valley Children’s Choir will go on a short tour on Wednesday, March 15. They will perform at local schools and nursing homes in Polson and Ronan.
Give blood during Red Cross Month
LAKE COUNTY — During Red Cross Month in March, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to join in its lifesaving mission by giving blood. Since 1943, every U.S. president has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the Red Cross helps people across the country and around the world. You can give blood in Ronan on March 3 from 1-6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Franklin Street and Fourth Ave E. or on March 15 at St. Joseph Hospital from from 11:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Make an appointmen by calling 1-800-733-2767.
