RONAN — Mark Johnston has lost his interim title. Trustees with Ronan School District No. 30 voted to offer Johnston a three-year contract as the official district superintendent during the Feb. 13 meeting.
“They took the tag off of me,” Johnston said in a phone interview after the meeting. In an August 2016 interview, Johnston said he was fine with the interim title while he was proving to be “a good fit.”
The contract has a starting salary of $115,000 per year.
“This is a great place to work, and I have great staff around me. They really make my job easier,” said Johnston, the former Ronan Middle School Principal who stepped into the interim position when Andy Holmlund resigned in July 2016.
