News from the National Bison Range
MOIESE — Have you ever wanted to volunteer your time where you can be outside in a spectacular natural setting, while contributing to the preservation of your public lands? If so, come work alongside the staff at the National Bison Range Complex, assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with visitor services, maintenance, and biological programs.
Volunteers are needed to operate the visitor center, interact with the public on the refuge, assist with special programs, and help with the maintenance program including mowing public use areas, minor construction, and trail maintenance. There are several ongoing biological projects that volunteers can assist with as well as office tasks or answering phones and visitor questions. Limited housing is available for out of town volunteers, as well as two RV pads with water, electric, and septic hookups.
To learn more, stop by our open house at the National Bison Range Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Refuge staff will be available to answer your questions and a list of projects will be available for your consideration. We will also be serving refreshments and offering a 20 percent discount on our bookstore items during this event. If you can’t make it, you can also call us at 406-644-2211, ext. or email us, bisonrange@fws.gov.
