PABLO – Salish Kootenai College continued its commitment to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. last week with various activities.
A “mic share” was held at 3 Wolves Cafeteria on Wednesday, Jan. 11, and a speakers series was held Friday, Jan. 13, at the SKC Library.
Among those speaking at the “mic share” were SKC President Sandra Boham, Vice President Dan Durglo, and licensed clinical social worker Margaret Schildt. Among those speaking at the speakers series were Lydia Schildt-Silva and Amanda Means. Schildt-Silva spoke about intergenerational trauma, lateral oppression and healing. Means spoke about her grandfather, Russell Means, and his contribution to the civil rights movement.
