RONAN – Main Street in Ronan received a splash of holiday spirit Nov. 22 as students from Kicking Horse Job Corps helped spice up downtown with festive evergreen trees, which are now awaiting to be decorated.
The trees were donated by tribal member Ed Stasso, who is also selling the trees near the Ronan Flower Mill. According to Beautification Committee for the Ronan Chamber of Commerce member Ronna Walchuk, she says decoration of the trees will be a joint effort between 4-H clubs and businesses, but added anyone is welcome to help.
“We’re just getting ready for Christmas on Main Street,” Walchuk said. “It’s absolutely wonderful working with Kicking Horse Job Corps. It’s a great collaboration when we can work together.”
This will be the first time the festive trees have lined Main Street since 2009, as the beautification committee skipped last year.
“It’s not a new thing,” Walchuk said. “But we’re glad to have it back.”
