Winter Book Chat starts Jan. 26
RONAN — A Winter Book Chat sponsored by Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Ronan Public Library, 203 Main Street.
Dave Kaufmann, former Charlo History teacher, will be hosting the chat about the book “Tough Trip Through Paradise” by Andrew Garcia. Kaufmann loved sharing this book with his students and others.
Author Andrew Garcia was a packer and mountain man. From his own unique viewpoint, Garcia tells the story of the end of the era of vast open ranges, before barbed wire fences. Garcia resisted all efforts to put his work into publishable form during his lifetime, feeling the accuracy and facts would be compromised by the western fiction market of the time.
The book itself is divided into four parts. Part one will be discussed the first night, and discussion about the last three parts of the book will follow on consecutive Thursdays: Feb. 2, 9, and 16.
Join us for conversation and a great read.
