POLSON — A longtime Polson business suffered significant fire damage on the main floor of their building Thursday morning.
A neighbor reported smoke coming from Schultz Refrigeration on First Street East around 4:30 a.m. Firefighters from Polson City Fire responded with mutual aide from Polson Rural Fire, Finley Point Fire and Ronan Fire and Polson Ambulance.
“When we arrived I observed smoke coming from gable vents on the second floor,” Polson City Fire Chief Clint Cottle said. “Once we made entry we were able to contain the fire to the specific area on the first floor.”
The crews had the fire knocked down and in mop-up stage by about 5:30 a.m., he said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Polson Police Department, according to Cottle.
