ST. IGNATIUS – The Ronan Chiefs set the tone early against the Mission Bulldogs, their cross-county rivals, scoring 25 points in the first quarter of play.
“We still have some work to do but I like what I see,” Chiefs’ head coach Mitchell Wassam said.
The Chiefs led all the way and held off a late fourth-quarter surge by the Bulldogs for the win.
“It got a little bit closer than it should have been at the end,” coach Wassam said. “Hats off to the Mission team. They played hard.”
Bulldogs’ Isaac Alexander led all scorers with 16 points.
Ezekiel Misa and Kobe Morigeau led the Chiefs scoring with 12 points apiece.
On Saturday, the Chiefs improved their record to 4-1 with a win over the visiting Eureka Lions, 54-36.
Anthony Camel scored 17 points to lead the Chiefs, who saw eleven different players score in the game.

KALISPELL – The visiting Polson Pirates narrowly slipped out of town with a win in a nonconference game against the Class AA Glacier Wolfpack on Tuesday, Dec. 13, but Glacier ended on top, 58-53.
The Pirates headed into the fourth quarter leading the Wolfpack 45-41 after taking a 28–22 lead into the locker room at halftime. A 17-8 run by the Wolfpack in the fourth quarter sealed the win over the Pirates. Pirates’ Jaydon Bautista led all scorers with 18 points and Matthew Rensvold pulled down 13 rebounds to go along with his 10 points for a double-double.
On Thursday the Class AA Flathead Braves needed a game-tying shot with just seconds left in regulation and an extra quarter of play to beat the hosting Class A Pirates 65-57.
Both Jeremiah North Piegan and Tanner Wilson had 16 points.
Saturday in Hamilton, after taking an 11-point deficit into the locker room at halftime, the Pirates rallied back in the second quarter to take a 57-55 lead with just seconds left in the game.
The Broncs’ hit a 3-point buzzer beater to stay undefeated and claim victory over the visiting Pirates.
For the Pirates, Matthew Rensvold had 15 points and Jeremiah North Piegan had 13 points.

DEER LODGE – The Deer Lodge Wardens collared the visiting Bulldogs 71-56 in conference play on Thursday. Wacey McClure led all Bulldogs with 15 points.

ST. REGIS – In Class C action, the Tigers beat the visiting Charlo Vikings 60- 47 on Thursday. Tyson Petticrew led three Viking players in double figures with 16 points. Garett Vaughan scored 12 points and Landers Smith followed up with 10 points. On Friday the visiting Plains Horsemen trotted to a 69-41 victory over their district rivals Vikings. Tyson Petticrew led the way for the Vikings with 10 points.

HOT SPRINGS – The Warriors improved their season record to 4-0 over the hosting Hot Springs Savage Heat 88-47. Four Warriors scored in the double-digits. Greg Whitesell led all scorers with 29 points. Will Mesteth scored 19 points, while Phillip Malatare and Tyler Tanner followed up with 16 and 14 points.
