Local agent receives award
BOZEMAN – Lake County Extension Agent Nori Pearce and others on her Powerful Tools for Caregiving team won second place in the Western region for Community Partnership at the Montana State University Extension’s annual conference at MSU in Bozeman Oct. 27. Other Extension agents, staff and supporters from across Montana won awards for exceptional service and achievement.
Local student honored
CASTINE, MAINE — Maine Maritime Academy’s annual Academic Achievement Awards banquet was held on Thursday evening, Nov. 10, to honor the scholarly accomplishments of students and the service of faculty. Connor Daugherty, Class of 2018, a Marine Biology major from Charlo, was among those honored as a Scheel scholar.
The late Henry A. Scheel of Rockport, Maine, was one of America’s most respected naval architects and yacht designers. Mr. Scheel left funds in 1994 to permanently endow scholarships for students in the three upper classes who best exemplify intellectual curiosity and achievement.
