POLSON — Nothing gives more sparkle and festivity to the Christmas season than the outdoor lighting displays of bright, colorful outdoor lights on homes, businesses, and churches. With shorter days and longer nighttime hours, the beauty of outdoor lighting is cheery and lifts our spirits.
The Beautification Committee of Envision Polson is once again organizing the annual “Celebrate the Season of Light” holiday contest to inspire Polson citizens to make our town the most beautiful community on the lake during the Christmas season.
Categories for the contest are “Best all-onecolor” and “Best multiple- color” designs. Awards will be given for first place winners for residences, neighborhoods, businesses, and churches. The area for the contest is the City of Polson, plus residences, neighborhoods, businesses and churches along Highway 35 to Fulkerson Corner, and along Rocky Point Road to the Kings Point turnoff.
Nomination forms are now available at the Polson Chamber of Commerce and many downtown businesses. Participants are welcome to nominate themselves. The more nominations received, the more successful the contest. Nomination forms are due at the Polson Chamber of Commerce on Friday, Dec. 16, before 2 p.m.
Judging will begin Saturday, Dec. 17, by a team made up of former “Celebrate the Season of Light” contest winners. Signs announcing the winners will be posted in their yards and they will be featured in local newspaper articles. All those nominated will receive a congratulatory card thanking them for their displays and for helping make the contest a success.
