Polson IEC announces meeting, new committee members

POLSON — The monthly Johnson O’Malley (JO’M) Indian Education Committee (IEC) meeting is on Monday, Nov. 21, at Polson Middle School. We will eat at 5:30 p.m. in the Middle School Cafeteria and begin the meeting at 6 p.m. in the library. Dinner and childcare will be provided. This meeting is open to the public. Feel free to forward or share this information with anyone who may be interested.

If you have any questions or would like to get any topics on the agenda for this month’s meeting, please contact our Committee Secretary, Weemus Wilder, at PolsonIEC@ gmail.com by or before Thursday, Nov. 17.

Nov. 21 agenda items:

— Mandie Steele- Polson ASP Coordinator- Information on After-School Program (ASP) request for support

— Final review and approval of by-laws

— Review of 2016- 2017 Polson JO’M graduate list

— Review, distribution of Polson JO’M 2016/17 meeting calendar

Grief support group welcomes all

RONAN — A grief support group will meet Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. in the back room of the Ronan Café. All are welcome. For more information, call Shirley at 406-676- 8571.

Roundtable hosts Western Montana Mental Health

Please join us for the November Resource Roundtable on Nov. 16 at noon at Lake County Health Dept. conference room. Lunch will be provided. Western Montana Mental Health will make a presentation.

For those who might be new to the group, the roundtable is a time to learn about other programs, share information, build relationships, seek collaboration and create a network of support for those serving the local community. We usually have a focus topic or presentation and always keep the meeting to one hour.

Hope you can join us.

Area-wide AlAnon meetings available

LAKE COUNTY — Are you affected by someone else’s drinking? Al-Anon can help. Area meetings are anonymous, non-smoking, 12-step recovery for family and friends of alcoholics. Meetings are held: Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Lutheran Church on Wall Street in Hot Springs; Wednesdays at noon at the Alano Club on Third Ave. W in Polson; Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at the CMA Church on Third Ave. in St. Ignatius; and Fridays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church on Fourth Ave. E in Polson.
