RONAN — A twotruck wreck closed the southbound lanes of Highway 93 north of Ronan around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Thomas Manz, it appears that a female driving a red Ford Explorer attempted to swerve past a blue pickup truck where the highway converges from two lanes into one just north of Lake’s Corner. The Explorer clipped the truck, sending both vehicles rolling. The Explorer rolled one complete turn, and the truck rolled half a turn, sliding a distance on its top.
Both Lake County drivers were taken to St. Luke Community Hospital, although the driver of the truck appeared to have only minor injuries. The female driver of the Explorer was not wearing her seat belt, Manz said. She has serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight helicopter to a Missoula hospital.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected at this point, but the investigation is ongoing, Manz said.
Southbound traffic was diverted to Old Highway 93. Names of the drivers were not released.
