Gearing up for the State Class A Speech, Debate and Drama meet to be held on Jan. 27 and 28 in Polson, the PHS speakers, actors and debaters competed in the district speech meet held in Columbia Falls.

Results for speech events were:
Policy Debate: 1st Place, Kelsey Koberg and Sharidan Russell; 6th Place, Eric DeLay and Reed Hovenkotter
Lincoln-Douglas Debate: 4th Place, Logan Nutzman; 5th Place, Isak Petersen; 7th Place, Kylie Koberg
Impromptu Speaking: 4th Place, Megan Pope
Humorous Oral Interpretation, 6th Place, Niche McLure
Serious Oral Interpretation: 5th Place, Riley Berlin; 7th Place, Aspen Many Hides; 8th Place, Annie Venters
Extemporaneous Speaking: 2nd Place, Megan Pope; 6th Place, Jarrod Plant
Memorized Public Address: 5th Place, Peregine Frissell
Original Oratory: 4th Place, Sher Afgan Tehmasap

Classical Duo Acting, 1st Place, Michael Venters and Rosie Stanfield; 2nd Place, Erika Siegelin and Clara Siegelin
Serious Duo Acting, 1st Place, Krysta Seville and Sydney Gambrel
Humorous Solo Acting: 3rd Place, Eryn McGinnis

Polson finished in second place in speech team results behind Columbia Falls and also second in drama team placings following Libby.
