THOMPSON FALLS — The Mission Valley Christian Academy coed soccer team traveled to Thompson Falls for a Friday night game under the lights and came away with a 5-1 victory.
Thompson Falls kept the game close in the first half with MVCA having a 2-1 advantage at halftime, but MVCA scored three unanswered goals in the second half to seal the win.
Lucca Maddy had a hand in all five of MVCA’s goals, scoring four and assisting on the other one to his younger sister Ellie Maddy. Nayeli Windauer, Conner Cornwell and Breken Clarke all played outstanding on defense, limiting the attacking options of the older and taller Thompson Falls players.
Micaiah Mitchell played the first 70 minutes of the game at goalkeeper and Breken Clarke finished the final 10 minutes at goalkeeper. Both athletes made outstanding saves to keep Thompson Falls to a single goal for the game.
