Hard work and a well-played season paid off for several area basketball players this week as the Montana High School Association announced the members of the 2011 District 14-C All-Conference and All-State teams.

Four area players picked up All-State honors as Arlee's Jesse Pfau and Kasey Bridgewater made the boys' squad, as did Charlo's Chance Rosenbaum. On the girls' side, Charlo junior Kinley Pope was named an All-State selection.

Area players accounted for seven of the 14 spots on the All-Conference girls' list as four Charlo Lady Vikings were picked for the squad while Arlee's Scarlets had three players make the list.

Kinley Pope and Rachel Hoyt of Charlo were both named All-Conference First Team for their part in leading the Lady Vikings to a 19-4 record and a district title. Teammates Dawn Blevins and Deondra Brown were named to the All-Conference Second Team for their efforts this season.

The Lady Vikings advanced to the Divisional Semi-Final game before being eliminated from the playoffs this season.

The Arlee Scarlets placed three players on the All-Conference team as Mahalia Hendren and Whitney Malatare were named to the Second Team while Kristin Adams picked up an Honorable Mention nod.

The Scarlets finished second at the District Tournament in Ronan this season before dropping a pair at the Divisional Tournament to finish the season 7-14.

Local boys teams also dominated the 14-C All-District team, accounting for 10 of the 15 players named to the squad.

Fresh off their second-place finish at the Class C State Tournament, the Arlee Warriors had three players named to the squad as seniors Jesse Pfau and Kasey Bridgewater were named to the First Team while fellow senior Trae Burland was named as an Honorable Mention memeber.

The Warriors won titles at both the district and divisional levels before falling just short at the state tournament this season. Arlee finished the season with a 22-4 record.

The Charlo Vikings had four players named to the All-Conference squad for this season as Chance Rosenbaum was named to the First Team, Dillon Delaney was placed on the Second Team and Chico Stipe and Kolton Andrews were named as an Honorable Mention members.

The Vikings opened the season with 14 straight wins before finishing the year with a 19-4 record. Along the way, the Vikings finished second at the District 14-C Tournament.

Two Eagle River School also had three players pick up post-season honors as Clayton Malatare was named to the First Team, Marcus Brown to the Second Team and T.J. Cutfinger made the squad as an Honorable Mention selection.
