POST CREEK — Tribal Conservation Officers are assisting the Tribal Wildlife Management Program on an investigation into a missing female grizzly bear in the Post Creek area. The investigation is ongoing.
Tribal Bear Biologists were called on Monday, Aug. 29 with a report that twin grizzly bear cubs were out during the day bawling for their mother. During the following week traps were set for the cubs. There was no evidence of an adult female in the area while the cubs were trapped.
“The sooner we find the female the easier it will be to determine what happened to her,” Courville said.
Anyone with information can contact Pablo Espinoza, Chief Conservation Officer or Stacy Courville, Tribal Bear Biologist at 406-675-2700 or at Tribal Dispatch at 406-675-4700. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
