Editor,
It has been several weeks since Ronan’s Haunted House and Zombie Prom. That’s about enough recovery time so we can finally express our thanks to the generous volunteers.
With about as much exuberance, hard work and enthusiasm as one could muster, Sharla Talsma, Shelly Cordis, their families and many other community–minded adults and kids gave big and little folks a great opportunity to have some fun. The new Zombie Prom promises to be even greater next year — those kids had a blast, according to my closest sources. There were literally dozens of kids who worked diligently to keep their wits about them and try to “spook” their friends as they came through the chambers of the Haunted House. All of them were current and future community volunteers — well, maybe some were voluntolds, however, they both really count in our book.
We thank Ronan Telephone Company who donated the building and Rainbow Septic who provided free portable restrooms. I also want to thank several others including board members and staff who helped with the event and also pre-coverage from the local news sources and radio station. This group donated more than $2,000 so our club kids can have a safe place to go after school in Polson and Ronan.
