POLSON – The Mission Valley Mariners have been on the road for their last three games. On Tuesday, June 28 they traveled to Florence for a double-header against the Bitterroot Buc’s. In the first game, the Buc’s went batcrazy in the fist two innings. The Buc’s scored seven runs to the Mariners none. The Buc’s rhythm continued the rest of the game holding the Mariners to zero runs. Bitterroot took the game in mercy rule fashion 11-0.
The following game the Mariners put up one run in the first inning, but that was the only lead they had the entire game. The Bitterroot Buc’s were to much to handle and won the second game 4-2.
On Thursday, June 30, the Mariners were playing on the Missoula Mavs home field. The Mavs dominated the first three innings outscoring the Mariners 5-1. The Mariners fought back in the sixth inning scoring one run, but their efforts were not enough. The Missoula Mavs took the game with a score of 8-2. The Mariners hosted the Firecracker Tournament last weekend, and will challenge the Bitterroot Bucs Wednesday, July 6, at 4 p.m.
