College health center open summer hours

PABLO — On June 13 the Salish Kootenai College Student Health Center began operating on a summer schedule. The schedule includes operating hours one day per week every Tuesday, with the exception of Wednesday, July 6. Staff will be available for appointments or walk-ins from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and nursing personnel available for appointments or walk-ins from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Student Health Center resumes full, regularly scheduled hours and personnel staffing on Sept. 12. In collaboration with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Tribal Health, the Student Health Center provides limited primary medical care, nursing, referrals, and health education resources to the SKC students, their qualified dependents, SKC faculty, and staff. Resources and healthcare provided at the Student Health Center include diagnosis and management of minor illness and injury, management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes or high blood pressure; simple diagnostic testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy testing and strep screening; physical exams, immunizations, health education and prevention services.
