BIGFORK – Montana State Parks invites the public to help Flathead Lake State Park staff combat invasive weeds this summer. Weed pulling events are scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at Yellow Bay and Saturday, July 9 at Finley Point. Both events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon.
In addition to helping control these plant pests, you’ll learn about weed identification, why it’s important to control weeds, and various control methods. Please bring water, work gloves, sunscreen, and dress appropriately for the weather. Trash bags and snacks will be provided. Flathead Lake State Park consists of six unique park units located around Flathead Lake. The park units on the east side are Wayfarers, Yellow Bay and Finley Point and the west side units are West Shore, Big Arm and Wild Horse Island. In addition to boating, swimming and fishing, each park unit offers unique experiences including camping, rental picnic shelters, group camping, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
