ARLEE — The Arlee Senior Center thanks the businesses and the individuals who have contributed so generously to the Well Fund. When our well suddenly went dry April 18 we were devastated. Responses to our request for help from Blackfoot Telephone Company, Area VI Aging Services, and local businessmen, as well as a number of private individuals, has made it possible to have a well drilled on our lot. Water is now flowing into our facility's "water closet" room (the old file and storage room) to supply the center. The new well and the up-to-code-approved plumbing and equipment, are the silver lining of a huge black cloud that seemed to fall over our center on April 18, when our 1920-era well went dry. There are still kinks to be worked out and we are somewhat short of covering the total cost, but we are survivors, (as all seniors are), and we'll make it. Thank you for all your generosity and support. Back to regular business -- you folks who regularly come the third Monday of each month for foot care need to give us a call or stop by the center to sign up for Holly's next visit, on Monday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. We call her with the total number of people signed up the Friday before her visit. Our menu for the coming week: You all know the drill: Monday, Wednesday and Friday meals are at noon and on the second and fourth Saturday evenings at 6 p.m. We are required to make up the 10 meals we missed while closed April 21-May 10, so our light supper “Make-up Meals” number six and seven are also listed below. — Wednesday, June 8: clam chowder and ham sandwich — Thursday, June 9: “Make-up Meal” number six - pizza, salad, fruit and dessert — Friday, June 10: French dip sandwich, fruit, dessert — Saturday, June 11: pork roast dinner — Monday, June 13: chicken with noodles dinner, salad, dessert — Tuesday, June 14: “Make-up Meal” number seven - tacos, fresh fruit, cookies — Wednesday, June 15: sweet and sour pork, salad, dessert
