NINEPIPE — Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Region One, is seeking public comment for a proposal for the Ninepipe Wildlife Management Area located just south of Ronan on Highway 93 in Lake County, to create two elevated wildlife viewing stations, as well as improve the parking at an additional location.
The proposed improvements are near Ninepipe Lane and Logan Road, west of Ninepipe Reservoir.
Although bird hunters are primary recreational users, the open space, spectacular views, and high wildlife diversity of the WMA are also enjoyed year-round by bird watchers and many others.
The draft is out for a 30-day public review through June 1, 2016.
Copies of the draft are available at the FWP office, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; FWP State Headquarters, 1420 E 6th Ave., Helena; the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov/news/public notices/; and available for viewing at local libraries.
The public comment period will extend for 30 days from May 2 through June 1, 2016.
