News from Providence St. Joseph Medical Center
POLSON — President Richard Nixon established National Volunteer Week with an executive order in 1974. Since then, the original emphasis has widened. Every April, charities, hospitals and communities recognize volunteers and their service.
During National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 10-16, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson recognized and celebrated 16 local community members that volunteer throughout the hospital, some in the gift shop, some in oncology and the surgical waiting room. Six of the 16 volunteers are pictured. Jan Irwin and John and Patricia Kelly mainly volunteer in oncology on Tuesdays. Barb Dolphin and Sharon Kensitzer volunteer in the gift shop and Hazel Heth helps out in many capacities.
Please call St. Joseph’s Volunteer Services Coordinator at 406-883-8933 if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.
