The Warriors earned themselves a piece of the district lead this week as they upset the No. 2 Vikings in Charlo Tuesday and won at Hot Springs Friday.

A strong third-quarter push by the Warriors was the difference in Charlo Tuesday as Arlee handed the Vikings their first loss of the season, 48-44.

Charlo led 12-7 after one quarter of play but the Warriors rallied to take a 21-18 halftime lead. Arlee began to pull away in the third quarter as Thomas McClure scored seven straight points to open the frame and put the Warriors up 28-18. The Warriors continued to widen their lead in the quarter, outscoring Charlo 16-3 in the frame to build a 37-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Warriors would need every point of the lead they had built as the Vikings used defense and three-point shooting to nearly erase it. The Warriors nearly shot themselves in the foot with missed free throws down the stretch, but were able to hang on for the win.

Trae Burland led the way for Arlee with 17 points while Kasey Bridgewater added eight and McClure, Jesse Pfau and Junior Sansavere each added seven.

The Warriors picked up another win Friday as they beat Hot Springs on the road, 62-57.
Arlee trailed 30-28 at the half but outscored the Savage Heat 18-13 in the third quarter to take a 48-41 lead into the final frame. Pfau scored seven of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors held on to get the win.

Along with Pfau's 22 points, Bridgewater added 15 points and McClure had 10.

The Scarlets had a tough week as they fell at Charlo Tuesday and at Hot Springs Friday.

Charlo jumped out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter Tuesday and pushed the lead to 25-8 at the half. Arlee managed just one point in the third quarter as Charlo went on to win, 47-20.

Mahalia Hendren led the Scarlets with six points while Skyla Perry added five.

The Scarlets led 9-7 after one quarter of play in Hot Springs Friday but the Lady Savage Heat outscored Arlee 19-13 in the second frame to grab a 26-22 halftime lead.

The third quarter was the difference as Hot Springs outscored Arlee 14-6 on the way to a 52-43 victory.

Hendren led Arlee with 17 points in the loss while Whitney Malatare added 15.

Both the Warriors and Scarlets will host Alberton Tuesday before finishing out the regular season with senior night against Noxon at home Friday.
