ARLEE — Greetings and Happy New Year to all our neighbors and friends! Ready or not, 2016 is well launched already, and the days of January are filling up with new schedules and activities. Vacation is over. Outside temperatures are significantly lower than is comfortable, but we’ll survive. Remember we live here, partly at least, because we tell ourselves we look forward to and enjoy the changing seasons. The sunrises over the snow-white Mission Range can be spectacular, as can the reflections of sunsets as well.
Our annual meeting for the Arlee Senior Center will be held during and following the Fourth Saturday evening dinner at 6 p.m., Jan. 23. There’ll be the usual “State of the Center” report for 2015. We need input from members and friends as to what they’d like to see accomplished in 2016. There will be nominations for new officers of the board, and several drawings, of course. Please give serious thought to what you can contribute to the on going, always changing and challenging functions that are part of every senior center. We really would appreciate seeing a good turn out for this special meeting. We need your input. There is much to be considered and discussed.
Lunches are served Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. Dinners are served at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. All meals are served with a main entre, vegetable, fruit, rolls, milk, juice, coffee or tea, and a dessert. Meals for the home bound can be delivered to those who qualify.
Menus for Jan. 13-29:
— Wednesday, Jan. 13: pork chops with potatoes and gravy
— Friday, Jan. 15: red beans and ham with cornbread
