Mission Valley Children’s Choir presents Christmas concert
RONAN — Mission Valley Children’s Choir will present its Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church on 406 Fifth Ave. SW in Ronan. The choir is directed by Cathy Gillhouse and Pastor Seth Nelson and accompanied by Robyn Carlson. The concert is free of charge and the public is cordially invited to attend. The choir, composed of second through fifth graders from Ronan, Pablo and Polson, will be singing sacred and secular Christmas songs. Several choir members will sing vocal solos and vocal ensembles.
Don Aadsen Ford, Super One Foods/Harvest Foods, Shea Carlson Construction Company and Dan and Della Daugherty are concert sponsors.
Missoula Chorus to perform in Mission
ST. IGNATIUS — Fans of Christmas music, and of great choral music in general, will be thrilled to learn that the Missoula Community Chorus, featuring tenor Paul Gates, will perform their 2015 holiday concert “Merry Christmas” right here in the Mission Valley. The 60-plus-voice choir will gather at the Mission Valley United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 10, to perform their entire Christmas program, virtually the same concert they will perform in Missoula on the following Friday night. Soloist Paul Gates, a former member of the Utah Symphony and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will be featured on several numbers.
There is no admission charge but for those who are able, a $5 per-person contribution is requested to help cover Chorus expenses. The concert will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. and will last about an hour. For more information, call 406-644-0122.
Young Republicans invited to Christmas party
POLSON — Calling all young Republicans and patriots to the annual Christmas dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to elect officers and create volunteer teams. The meeting will be held at the Ridgewater Office Complex, 145 Southlake Crest in Polson. Dinner and social time begin at 6:30 p.m. To RSVP or if you have questions, please call 406-531-3590.
Baskets to benefit volunteer center
POLSON — The Retired Senior Volunteer Program is holding their annual fundraiser by offering a raffle for a choice of three gift baskets.
The first prize basket contains one night at the Red Lion Inn, dinner at Finley Point Grill, a Blue Willow Massage, a Glacier Bank sponsored shopping spree, gifts from Jackie M’s Footwear, Murdoch’s and more.
The second place basket includes a white water rafting event for two people, lunch at the Cove Deli and Pizza, a game day blanket and Thermos, a Murdoch’s gift certificate and more.
The third place basket includes a holiday gift potpourri tree, a Murdoch’s gift card and Mission Valley Aquatics Center tickets.
Raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and can be purchased at the RSVP office after Dec. 14. The drawing will be held at Murdoch’s at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, and will be performed by Polson Mayor Heather Knutson.
Join Ronan Parade of Lights, live nativity
RONAN — Put lights on your truck, lights on a Christmas tree loaded on a trailer, lights on your kids and dog, put lights up in your business and let’s hope Rudolph has his light on when he visits Ronan for the “Parade of Lights,” Friday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. The Holiday Treasures Drawing will follow the parade. Journey afterward to Ronan City Park to see Santa by the fire pit and the live nativity with donkeys, horses, sheep — any animal Noah got on the Ark, we can bring it to the park. See you in the parade, at the parade and in the city park Dec. 18.
Nominate favorite decor
POLSON — The Envision Polson Beatification Committee wants you to know there is still time to nominate your favorite decorated Polson residence, church, business, or tree for the Celebrate the Season of Light contest. The nominations date has been extended and forms are now due by Thursday, Dec. 17. Republicans invited to festive party
BIG ARM — The Lake County Pachyderm Club, in partnership with the Lake County Republican Women, will be holding its annual Christmas Party at Camp Marshall on Melita Island Road, Friday, Dec. 11, beginning with a social hour at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to being an evening of fun and conversation, Aaron Flint is the featured speaker who is expected to share his insights on several issues especially important to Montana. He is the former host of Montana’s only statewide radio talk show, Voices of Montana. His blog, The Flint Report, was named by the Washington Post as one of the best state-based political blogs. The Washington Post also named him as one of the best state-based political reporters, and his work has been featured by the Fox Business Network, The Drudge Report, Huffington Post, Politico and more. Aaron now serves as Communications Director for Greg Gianforte’s exploratory campaign for Governor of Montana.
New officers will also be installed.
The mission of the Pachyderm Club is to provide an environment of “Fun, Fellowship, and Program,” and strives to inform and encourage participation in the political process.
Pachyderm Clubs are open to all Republicans. This festive party is an opportunity for enlarging the network of Republicans in Lake County. Many of your friends will be there. Please join us.
