RONAN — It was a great way to start the season — playing basketball with other teammates in front of a supportive hometown crowd, where every basket scored points for Ronan.
“It was fun,” boys coach Steve Woll said of the annual Orange and Black scrimmage event, which he called “a tuneup before the tip-off tournament.”
Both boys and girls varsity teams begin real competitive play Friday and Saturday against other Class B teams in the Tip Off Tournament at the University of Montana.
Now in its seventh year, the Orange and Black event includes a fundraising dinner and a plethora of donated auction items up for grabs. Proceeds support the basktball teams and help will pay for meals when the teams travel.
