ARLEE — On Saturday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. the Arlee Senior Center will host their annual Christmas Dinner. We invite all our members, friends and neighbors to join us for this occasion. In addition to the turkey dinner, a drawing for a lovely quilt donated by Joyce, Connie,

Margaret and Sherry will be held at 6:30 p.m. One lucky person will go home with this keepsake quality quilt, created by these four local and dedicated quilters who decided to “use up all the scraps” in their collective fabric storage boxes, drawers and bins. It takes just one ticket to win so do stop by and get your ticket(s) in the pot.  Tickets are $2 each, three for $5 and seven for $10.

The on-going silent auction will close at 6 p.m. Winning bidders who are present may pick up their items Saturday evening. Calls will be made to those not present, and a time for payment and pick up set.  Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to all who have participated in these fundraising projects, and who help in many other ways to keep the Arlee Senior Citizens Center functioning.

Menus for December meals appeared in the Dec. 2 edition of the Valley Journal. You can pick up a menu at the Second Saturday Christmas Dinner on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.

Even as I write this, reports are on TV of black ice, school closures and Interstate 90 is closed from Superior to Haugen. Please drive safely, winter is here, and keep a positive attitude. Both will improve your chances for a long and healthy life.
