CHARLO – Mission Valley residents will want to mark their calendars to enjoy the Saturday, Sept. 5 “First Saturday” event at the Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana. The featured artist will be Juanita Small Salmon, an artist who creates beautiful acrylic paintings in brilliant colors.
“One of the best things about being retired is that you actually get to do what you always wanted to do in the first place,” says Small Salmon.
For the past few years she has studied art at The Red Poppy in Ronan with Olivia Olsen. Small Salmon was juried into both “The Icons of the West” 2015 art show at the Dana Gallery in Missoula and the Flathead Festival of Art sponsored by the Sandpiper Art Gallery in Polson. The public is invited to meet the artist and view her work from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The museum is open for visitors 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays through Nov. 28.
