Fatal wreck claims one life

RONAN — A two-vehicle crash on Round Butte Road left one person dead on Aug. 6.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., emergency officials responded to a head-on collision. Montana Highway Patrol officials say a passenger car was driving in the wrong lane of traffic and collided with a Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the car, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was taken to St. Luke Community Hospital in Ronan and released shortly thereafter.
Highway officials say alcohol, drugs, and speed are not suspected to have been a factor. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
