RONAN — Quilters are sewing on bindings, pressing seams and picking up projects from their long-arm quilters in preparation for the annual Mission Mountain Quilt Guild show.
Held in the K. William Harvey gymnasium, the show will run July 30, 31 and Aug. 1. The theme this year is “Twist and Shout,” so seamstresses can enter their favorite pieces made with the twister tool. There are many other categories, too.
Each year the guild honors one quilter and displays a number of that featured quilter’s work. This year the MMQG’s featured quilter is Kay Krantz.
Viewing hours for the show are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. Visitors can vote for their favorite quilts.
There will be vendors at the show, and Tonya Gray will have a family history booth.
As their major fundraiser, the Mission Mountain Quilt Guild members will sell raffle tickets for a handmade quilt and two suitcases full of fat quarters. Tickets are $5 for six tickets or $1 apiece, and they will be on sale at the show or from guild members.
Funds raised provide money for the quilt guild to buy fabric that members make into quilts and then distribute them to victims of house fires.
