PABLO — A Charlo teenager died from injuries sustained in a July 12 traffic wreck.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Sanderson, at approximately 12:30 a.m. the southbound truck driven by Brett Krantz, 15, of Charlo, drifted off the left side of Highway 93 near mile marker 51, returned to the roadway, then drifted off the roadway again after the driver overcorrected. The vehicle rolled several times.
Krantz was ejected and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken via ambulance to St. Luke Hospital and via aircraft to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, where he later died. Sanderson said drugs, alcohol, and excessive speed have been ruled out as possible causes of the crash.
