FINLEY POINT — The 2015 Crown Guitar Summer Celebration Series, produced by the Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation (COCGF), will present “Live at Finley Point Grill” on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The fundraising event will feature guitarist Mike Murray and his band performing on the lawn.
The musical fundraising party begins at 6 p.m. with appetizers and drinks offered during both a silent and a live auction where prizes such as tickets to the UM Adams Center, a gourmet dinner with music provided by the COCGF and a Hawaiian vacation. Auction proceeds support both scholarships and programs of the nonprofit COCG Foundation that will produce its sixth annual Crown Guitar Workshop and Festival on Aug. 30–Sept. 6 at Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork.
Two students of the Crown Guitar class held at Salish Kootenai College were recently awarded COCGF scholarships and will perform solo and with Murray, also a scholarship recipient of the COCGF. The Mike Murray Band will play from 8:15 to 10 p.m.
Tickets for “Live at Finley Point” are $45 for singles and $40 on orders of two or more. Price at the door will be $45. The ticket includes two drink coupons and appetizers.
