POLSON — Following an executive session for a grievance hearing, the Polson School Board of Trustees held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on July 13. It was Pamela Clary’s first meeting as the district’s business manager. She was sworn in as school board clerk, too.
Clary suggested a work meeting at 4 p.m. on Aug. 10 to “discuss and give clarity to the budgets,” which may be adopted at that meeting.
In other business, Tom DiGiallonardo, Polson Middle School Principal, asked the board for permission to take a group of middle schoolers who earned a summer reading program ticket to Silverwood Theme Park on either Saturday, Sept. 12 or Sept. 19.
The board voted to approve the travel.
Polson Superintendent Linda Reksten reported on work related to the bond being completed at Polson High School.
Tasks completed include signs on the exterior of the buildings, doorjambs at gym doors, a walkway on the roof, electrical for the exterior signs and ballasts. The gym floor was completed and is curing, and 11 ventilator heating units were installed in vestibules and stairways.
The board accepted the fuel bids from Energy Partners LLC and Mountain West Cooperative/Cenex.
With the exception of the high school and middle school music teacher position, the board accepted the personnel report.
The next meeting will be held Sept. 21 instead of Sept. 14 at the Polson district boardroom.
