RONAN — A two-vehicle wreck July 6 at about 2:30 p.m. south of Ronan left drivers shaken up, but alive.
The female driver of a car heading south on Highway 93 turned left off onto Ashley Lake Road and said she didn’t see a one-ton dually pickup approaching.
The driver of the pickup tried to avoid hitting the car by attempting to run into the ditch, causing the truck to roll at least once, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Terry Rosenbaum, who investigated the crash.
Both of the male occupants were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured, and their dog seemed OK.
The car’s driver also was wearing a seatbelt and the car’s airbag deployed, but she was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s in Ronan for non life-threatening injuries.
“Their seatbelts definitely saved their lives,” Trooper Rosenbaum said.
He added that the car’s driver was cited for a right-of-way violation.
