WHITEFISH — After three days of playing in scorching heat, including a record temperature of 102 degrees on Sunday, the Polson 12U Majors All Star baseball team persevered and took second place in the Jack Zerr Tournament in Whitefish. Polson had a great day hitting on Saturday including a Grand Slam home run by Lincoln Slonaker and an out-of-park home run by Espn Fisher. This young team, with continued strong hits and a tough defense, made another impressive showing this season, Columbia Falls (4-3 win), Regulators (3-0 loss), Eureka (18-0 win), Cranbrook (14-4 win), Medicine Hat (8-4 win) and Regulators again (9-3 loss) in the championship game for a strong second-place finish.
