With Fourth of July just around the corner, it’s time once again for the Mission Valley Mariners’ Firecracker Tournament. From July 2-5, the Mariners will host 11 teams at O’Malley Park in Polson, with some games played at the Babe Ruth field in Ronan. Games will be played from 9 a.m. to dusk each day, and the tournament schedule will be posted on the Mariners’ website at www.mvmariners.com along with other tournament information.
According to organizer Tom McDonald, there are many new items on the concessions menu, as well as a beer garden on tap during the weekend games.
Teams playing in this holiday weekend tourney are the Dillon Cubs, Cranbrook Canada Bandits, Deer Lodge Wranglers, Livingston Braves, Kootenai Valley Rangers, Libby Loggers, Glacier Twins, Missoula Pioneers, Helena Reps and the host Mariners A and B teams.
