Lake County road levy passes
POLSON — Unofficial results from the Lake County Election Office indicate the Lake County Road Levy passed with 2,561 voters mailing in ballots in favor of the two-year levy and 1,592 voters casting their ballots against the levy.
About 35 percent of eligible voters returned ballots; the election department sent out 11,647 ballots and 4,153 were returned.
Avison to talk business at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Ken Avison, president of the Polson Business Community and president of the Polson Redevelopment Agency, will speak at the Friday, June 26 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club held at the Polson Rural Fire Hall beginning at noon.
He will discuss the status of downtown Polson and how the PBC plans and organizes downtown activities such as the Cherry Festival. He also will describe the past and present work of the PRA, which recommends the allocation of monies generated by the Tax Increment Finance District that encompasses most of downtown Polson and the railroad district. These monies were used for the improvements to the City dock and the bridge linking the two downtown parks. He will ask for suggestions for future projects.
