POLSON — Approximately 60 pounds of “gently loved toys” filled the children’s wagon pulled by kids from Little Friends Preschool from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. They were on their way to Helping Hands to deliver the toys to kids who may not have any.
The children have been collecting toys all year long as part of their stewardship project, which recognizes a need in the community. For some of the kids contributing toys was easier than for others, according to Heather Holmes, Little Friends Preschool teacher.
Holmes said last year the kids honored the quilters at Good Shepherd, who meet often and produce hundreds of handmade mission quilts.
“This year we focused on the children in the community,” Holmes said.
