ARLEE — The Arlee Senior Center is in need of a part-time cook. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please call the Center at 406-726-3213, or get in touch with Patty Hahn at 406-726-3387 or Lilie Willison at 406-726-3481 for details as to hours, days, and pay.
Rose Ness from our Center attended the three-day Governor’s Conference on Aging in Helena June 12, 13 and 14. Their theme of Alzheimer Disease-Lifespan Respite Care, other Aging Resources and Supports, is a timely subject. Rose reported the speakers and the workshops were very informative and interesting. Arlee seniors Anne Stewart, Bette Samsel and Patty Hahn were chauffeured to Helena by Bill Samsel to attend day three of the conference. They also felt it was a most worthwhile experience, and quite a lot of fun. All plan to attend next year, for all three days.
The Center is planning a Spring Yard/Rummage Sale on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With the end of the fiscal year, coffers are in need of rejuvenation. Donations are welcome and we will pick up items if you call 406-726-3718 to arrange a pick-up time.
The regular monthly Board of Directors meeting will be held Monday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at the Senior Center. Members and friends are always welcome to attend.
Lunches are served at noon every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. An evening dinner is served at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Menus for the next two weeks:
— Wednesday, May 27: Fish fillets w/potatoes, fruit, coleslaw and brownies
— Friday, May 29: Chicken stir fry w/veggies over rice; salad, fruit and bread pudding
— Monday, June 1: Goulash, salad, fruit, birthday cake and ice cream
— Wednesday, June 3: Chicken strips, potatoes, salad, peach cobbler
— Friday, June 5: Salmon patties, coleslaw, rice pilaf, fruit and brownies
— Monday, June 8: Cowboy beans, cornbread, cheese and veggie tray, fruit, pudding and cookies
— Wednesday, June 10: Taco bar, fruit, cake
— Friday, June 12: Lasagna, salad, garlic toast, Jello w/fruit, cookies
— Saturday evening, June 13: Roast pork, potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, applesauce, and rhubarb crisp.
