RONAN — SAFE Harbor was presented recently with a check for more than $1,000 and various household supplies from the Mission Valley United Methodist Church. The church selected SAFE Harbor for support earlier in the year and then solicited contributions from within the membership.
“These gifts from the community are vital to SAFE Harbor’s ongoing services,” said Executive Director DeeAnn Richardson. “We are so thankful to have such loyal and dedicated community partners. The Methodist Church has always been a great friend to SAFE Harbor.” SAFE Harbor is the domestic violence service provider for Lake County and the Flathead Reservation. For more than 20 years it has operated a shelter and provided other services including counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, education, outreach, training, legal assistance and referrals to the community, focusing on those dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence. This past year the agency served more than 400 primary victims and nearly 300 secondary victims. SAFE Harbor maintains a hotline at (406) 676-0800 for those in need of assistance or for more information.
