POLSON — Each year the Job Service Employer Committee, and advisory group for the Lake County Job Service, presents an “Employers of Choice” award to a small, a medium and a large business in Lake County.
This year’s small-scale business recipient, Lake County Community Development, was chosen because of its diverse work environment, and opportunities for training. The staff, with an average of 6.5 years with the company, is actively involved with the community.
S&K Technologies was selected for the midsized Employer of Choice due to fostering a healthy balance between work and life while acknowledging staff accomplishments. S&K also offers solid employee benefits, educational programs, counseling and mentoring while making sizeable monetary contributions to the community each year.
Rocky Mountain Twist/Jore Corporation, in business for 27 years with 175 employees currently, was chosen for the large business award because they recognize performance achievements and encourage advancement within the company. They sponsor community events and invest in the community.
Members of the Job Service Employer Committee offer the low-cost workshops and serve as advisors to the Job Service Workforce Center and the State Department of Labor, helping to identify and take care of the business community’s needs.
