DEER LODGE – Ronan golf had a busy week with two tourneys on the road and top 10 finishes for its athletes.
At Deer Lodge on Thursday, the Maidens filled the upper ranks as four girls placed in the top 10. Faring best for the Maidens was Brooklyn Olson who shot a 97 good for fifth followed by Lauryn Hales in sixth with a score of 103. Kaitlyn Woirhaye finished in ninth after logging a 125 and rounding out the top 10 in 10th was Teagan Gray’s score of 133.
Overall the Maidens scored 458 behind Loyola-Sacred Heart’s 354.
The boys scored 354 as a team good for third behind Deer Lodge and Loyola and placed three in the top ten led by Fisher Niemeyer’s sixth place score of 82.
Vinny Bird-Webster and Logan Hakes each tied for 10th with a score of 89.
On Saturday at the River’s Bend Golf Course in Thompson Falls the Maidens posted a team score of 468 good for third and saw Hales and Woirhaye bust into top 10 status. Hales shot a 104 good for sixth and Woirhaye finished in 10th with a 113.
The Chiefs placed fifth overall with a team score of 347 with Hakes taking a top 10 spot in ninth with an 18-hole score of 85.
Thursday the Chiefs and Maidens will wrap up their regular season play in St. Regis and then will head to Helena for Divisional action May 5.
Qualifying for Divisionals will be Maidens Brooklyn Olson, Lauryn Hales, Kaitlyn Woirhaye and Teagan Gray.
Fisher Niemeyer,
Vinny Bird-Webster, Tanner Olson, Rhett Duffey and Logan Hakes will represent the Chiefs at the Divisional Tournament.
