The regularly meeting of the Board of Directors for the Arlee Center will be Monday, May 4. We meet at 10 a.m. the first Monday of each month. Members of the senior center and interested folks in the community are always welcome to attend and learn how the center runs.

On May 9 the Second Saturday Dinner will honor all Mothers, and we hope many of you will join us for a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

We have an addition to the kitchen staff. Kelly Burland has joined us as a part-time cook, sharing that position with Judy Altenhofen, who has been with us since last June 2014. Welcome, Kelly. Judy and Kelly are a great team. Backing them up are Shacazie Red Woman and Rochelle Young Running Crane, the quickest cook’s helpers available. You all come join us for some good “home-cookin’.”

Jane B., the Lake County Council on Aging’s faithful foot care lady will be here May 18, at 10:30 a.m. This is a free service. Blood pressure checks can be done from 10:30-noon.

Meals are served Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays at noon and dinners on the second and fourth Saturdays at 6 p.m.  

Following are the meals for May:

•  Thursday, May 6:  meatloaf, potatoes and gravy, salad, buns, fruit and cookies

•  Friday, May 8: chef salad, fruit, roll, apricot upside-down cake

•  Saturday, May 9: Mother’s Day dinner -roast turkey with all the trimmings 

•  Monday, May 11: beef stroganoff over noodles, salad, buns, strawberry shortcake

•  Wednesday, May 13: cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, peaches, buns, rice krispy bars

•  Friday, May 15: cowboy beans, corn bread, cheese and vegetable tray, fruit pies 

•  Monday, May 18: barbecue ribs, baked potatoes, salad, rolls, cookies, watermelon slices

•  Wednesday, May 20: Salisbury steak, gravy and potatoes, three-bean salad, rhubarb crisp

•  Friday, May 22: baked potato with chili, onions, cheese, salad, fruit, cheesecake

•  Saturday, May 23: oven fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, peas/carrots, rolls, apple crisp

•  Monday, May 25: Memorial Day. No meal today.

•  Wednesday, May 27: fish filets, fried potatoes, coleslaw, fruit, brownies

•  Friday, May 29: chicken stir-fry with vegetables over rice, salad, fruit, bread pudding
