CHARLO – On Wednesday, April 22, Charlo Schools will hold a “Ghost Out.” Every 15 minutes a student will be pulled from class as if they were involved in a drug or alcohol related car accident and return as a “ghost” for the remainder of the day. After lunch, beginning at 1 p.m. and lasting for approximately one hour, Charlo High School will perform a “Mock Critical Incident” drill. This drill will involve response from various emergency agencies (police, fire, ambulance, etc.) responding to a mock “crash” scene.
No real emergency will actually be taking place. This drill is to inform high school students of the risks and consequences of drinking and driving. Following the mock crash, we will have an assembly in the gym where we will continue. There will be a mock emergency room scene where one victim will die followed by a mock courtroom where the “drunk driver” will be sentenced. Speakers and emergency personnel will talk and answer students’ questions following the mock courtroom sentencing.
