RONAN — University of Montana Coaches and staff will again participate in the annual Tana Bockman Memorial Golf for the Griz Tournament on May 15. The event will be held on the Mission Mountain Golf Course in Ronan.
The Grizzly coaches and staff will play with area golfers in the scholarship fundraiser. The UM personalities will rotate during the tournament so that all golfers will be able to golf with at least some of them. The four-person, 18-hole, co-ed scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
Participants will partake of a pig roast barbecue after the golfing at 4 p.m. Prizes for winning golfers and teams will be presented at that time. There will also be a silent auction and door prizes.
All proceeds from the tournament go to scholarships for U of M Grizzly student athletes. The event is sponsored by the Mission Mountain Chapter of the University of Montana Scholarship Association.
The fee for tournament golfers will be $80 ($70 for MMC pass holders). That fee will cover the golf and cart, the barbecue and door prizes. Barbecue only tickets will cost $25. To sign up for the tourney or to obtain more information about it, contact the golf course, (406) 676-4653, Mission Mountain Golf Course, 46664 Golf Course Way, Ronan, MT 59864 or call GSA Chapter President Mack McConnell (406) 745-4151, cell 552-2525, email mackm@blackfoot.net or write to Mack McConnell, Box 811, St. Ignatius MT 59865.
