RONAN — A Ronan man accused of killing his brother and leading authorities on a manhunt in June 2014 is set to plead his case before a jury later this year, after rejecting a plea deal that would have sent him to prison for 40 years.
Harry Lozeau, 54, had agreed to plead guilty to homicide charges as part of a plea bargain made in February. When Lake County District Court Judge James Manley said he intended to sentence Lozeau to 40 years in prison, with a parole and probation restriction for the first two decades of that, Lozeau opted to go to trial.
Manley accepted the change of plea, and set a trial for Sept. 14.
