Justice of the Peace Chuck Wall dealt with the following cases Oct. 28-Nov. 3:

Courtney Lorena Hill, 28, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. She was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs. If Hill provides proof of a valid driver’s license by Dec. 2, jail time will be waived.

Michael Thomas Sanford, 33, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, marijuana (60 grams or less), first offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $295 plus $85 in court costs. Sanford also pleaded not guilty to speeding, traveling 95 mph in a 65 mph zone. He was found guilty and fined $105.

William C. Whitford, 19, pleaded guilty to two counts of improper passing in a no-passing zone. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $50 plus $35 in court costs for each of the charges. Whitford also pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license. He was found guilty and fined $100 plus $35 in court costs.

Larence Douglas Bird Jr., 67, pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, second offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 10 days in jail, eight suspended, and fined $350 plus $35 in court costs. Bird also pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $100 plus $35 in court costs.

Ely Jacob Walker, 31, pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, second offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 10 days in jail, eight suspended, and fined $350 plus $35 in court costs. If he provides proof of six months’ continuous coverage on May 1, jail time will be waived.
