MISSOULA – Ronan’s golf team kicked off the spring season by placing two girls and one boy in the top 20 at Loyola-Sacred Hearts Invite played at the Missoula Country Club Friday and Saturday.
Overall as a team, the girls placed third with a combined score of 1036. Maiden Lauryn Hales shot a 36 hole two-day total 226 with a 109 on the first round and 117 on the second, good for a 15th placing. Right behind in 19th place was Brooklyn Olson. Olson shot a combined 249 with 122 on day one and 127 day two.
Fisher Niemeyer found the highest place for the Chiefs, finishing in 19th with a two-day score of 176. Niemeyer started the tourney with a day-one 92 and upped his game in the second round to beat his first score by seven strokes with 84.
The Chiefs finished in eighth as a team with a combined two-day score of 761.
Ronan’s golf team will head to Bigfork April 9 and will return to host their own Invitational April 14.
